The teachers will expect you to provide a small writeup of the topic that you have chosen. You have to mention in short what the project is about, why it is being done, how it can benefit, what you will cover, and so on.

Here is an example.

Say you have chosen the topic “Uttarakhand (or Himachal) tourism campaign to promote skiing in Auli”.

In that case, you can provide a short write-up for the selected topic to your teacher. So in this case, you could write something like this.

“Auli is a popular ski resort and hill station located in Uttarakhand. Many religious destinations are also situated around Auli. In order to fully exploit it potential as a tourist destination, Uttarakhand tourism department wants to promote the region for the forthcoming winter season, as an affordable alternative to European destinations. The target crowd will be those who wish to visit a hill station to experience snowfall, those with interest in skiing, and those who wish to explore a beautiful destination in the Himalayas. The increased footfalls will benefit hotels, tour operators, and the various local businesses, thus boosting the local economy.”

Pick an existing brand or create a new brand of your own. Build a social media strategy for all of these Linked-in, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook only 5 strategies per social media platform total 20 strategies. Do background research for your brand type.

Answer: Most students get confused about what brand to pick because there are so many brands.

The trick is to first figure out what strategy you are going to use for the various social media websites, and then apply it to any brand.

You need to first understand the strengths and weaknesses of the various social media platforms, decide what kind of posts you will share on each of those platforms, will they target different segments.

You will need to do some reading to find this information. Once you have this, you can apply it to any brand.

While a BMM project is likely to take much of your time during the semester, you should also find time to study for your semester end exams. Also, make sure you read read newspapers, and a bit of television (for the advertisements). What if a question like “Give an example of an ad where there is gender stereotype” pops up in the exam? How will you answer it if you haven’t seen enough advertisements? So, do read about and watch all forms of media; it will help you in your project and in the exams.

BMM Projects: How to Score Well

Most BMM students fret at the thought of doing their BMM project. BMM students have to submit a list of Project topics to their teacher based on which they research and design their entire project. Lot of students want to score well in their project as they think it will have a bearing on their further studies (several BMM student plan to do MBA after completing their BMM). But higher BMM marks does not guarantee admission into a MBA college. For that you have to appear for entrance exams such as CAT, CET or the institutions entrance exam.

Most of the BMM projects are on field work and less of theory. The assessment is also equally divided between exams and projects (25 marks for the project and 75 marks for written exam). But assuming you score less in the projects for some reason, you can always try to make up for it in the written examination.

However, BMM projects are easier that what it looks like. To score will in your BMM project, all you need to do is to pay attention in lectures and study well before exams. The best thing to do is to keep oneself focus and involved in college, and all the subjects / project will seem easy. Its recommended that you avoid taking up internship or doing a part-time job, especially in the Third Year.
