Bachelor of Fashion Design/Designing (BFD)

Bachelor of Fashion Design/Designing (BFD) is an undergraduate Fashion Designing course.

Fashion design is the art of using fabrics, colours and ornamentation to make various fashion items like clothing, textiles, jewellery, footwear and other accessories.

Duration of BFD courses may vary depending on the institute/college. While some colleges offer 3 years BFD courses, some colleges offer it as a 4 years course.

• 10+2 or its equivalent exam from any disciplines and having 50% marks can apply
• Some colleges/institutes may conduct an aptitude test for admission.

The term B.F.D. is also commonly used to abbreviate “B.A. (Fashion Design)” whose duration may vary a bit, so make sure you get that confirmed from the relevant authorities.
