Solid

A matter is said to be solid when it has its own shape and size.

Examples: Carrots, Bird nest, Helmet, Ice cubes

Liquid

A matter is said to be liquid when it does not have its own shape. A liquid takes the shape of its container.

Examples: Honey, Milk, Water, Coffee

Gas

A matter is said to be gas when it has no shape or size of its own. It has no colour and is invisible.

Examples: Smoke, Air, Steam, Cloud

Boiling

It is a process through which a liquid starts to turn into a gas.

Example of things that can be boiled: Water, milk

Melting

It is the process where a solid turns into liquid due to extreme heat.

Example of things that can melt: Ice cream, ice cubes, snow, candle, butter

Freezing

It is the process in which a liquid becomes very cold and turns into solid.

Examples: Ice cubes, ice cream, igloo.
