Balanced Scorecard: A comprehensive guide

Balanced scorecard (BSC) is an appraisal method that reveals how the objectives of an individual employee influences his role as a member of a team, and how that team then contributes to the success of a business unit, and how that business unit’s productivity affects the overall goals of the organization.

Balanced scorecard allows managers to look at the business from four important perspectives:

• Customers Perspective: View of customer
• Internal Perspective: What should the process excel at?
• Innovation and learning perspective: How to improve further and create value?
• Financial perspective: View of shareholders
