Control anger stories for kids: Anger is often referred to as a wind that blows out the lamp of the mind. Here are nice stories to tell your kids about the importance of controlling anger.
As adults, we all are aware of the importance of controlling one’s anger but how do you teach that to kids? And kids nowadays are not only demanding, they have big tempers as well.

You can see their when you snatch the phone from them (when time is up), or you don’t give into their demands (buying a toy ASAP), or when you ask them to study a bit more during exam time.
That is why you, as parents, need to memorize a collection of short moral stories that talk about the ill-effects of anger and how how anger can harm a person, so that you can tell these to your kids whenever you get the opportunity.
Here we have listed several such stories.
Nails in the fence story
This is my favourite of all stories on anger management. The story nicely drives the point what happens when you say things in anger (not just for kids but also for adults).
There’s this little boy who has a bad temper. His father decides to do something about it and he got a bag of nails and a hammer. He then asked his son to hammer a nail on the fence every time he lost his temper going forward.
The first day the boy hit 25 nails on the fence. Over the next few days, the number of nails hammered on to the fence started reducing as the boy learnt to control his anger, and finally it went down to zero.
So the day came when the boy didn’t lose his temper and he was thrilled to tell his father about it.
The father was happy but now he suggested the boy to go ahead and remove one nail for each day that he was able to hold back his temper.
Days passed and the young boy was finally able to get rid of all the nails from the fence. Excited, he went to his father and told him about his new achievement.
The father was very pleased that he was able to control his temper or so long. He congratulated the son and told him how proud he was of his achievement.
The father then told him to observe the fence closely, all the holes specifically.
“You have done very well, my son. But those holes will remain there forever, and the fence will never look the same again. Similarly, when you say things in anger, you hurt people and leave a scar that won’t heal easily even if you sorry later. It won’t matter how many times you say I’m sorry, the wound will still be there.”
“Friends and loved ones are special; they encourage you to succeed, stand by you when things go wrong, make you smile, share words of praise. With such people, its important to water your relationships with kindness and they will blossom more. You can scar them for life if you’re not careful with your lips”.

The boy was now silent as he understood the gravity of the lesson which his wise father had tactfully taught him.
Snake story: How anger hurts us
A snake penetrated into a carpentry workshop. As it slipped, it passed over a saw and got slightly wounded. Suddenly, it turned and bit the saw, and biting the saw, the snake seriously got wounded in its mouth! Then not understanding what was happening and thinking that the saw was attacking “him,” it decided to roll around the saw to suffocate it with all its body by squeezing it with all its strength, but it ended up being killed by the saw!!!
Sometimes we react in anger to hurt those who have harmed us, but we realize after all that we are being hurt ourselves.
In life it is better sometimes to ignore situations, ignore people, ignore their behaviors, their words.
Sometimes it is better not to react so as not to suffer consequences that can sometimes be deadly or harmful.
Do not let hate take over your life because love is stronger than anything.
Anger is the best friend of fools
Once upon a time, there lived a couple in a small village. The wife Mohini had a short temper and was arrogant, exactly opposite to her husband Ramji.
The wife tells the husband to buy two bulls to farm the land so that they can earn more. However, the husband feels they have a small land and do not need two bulls.
However, Mohini was in no mood to listen ad the husband gives in and buys two bulls from the market. The next day Mohini’s brother came to visit them and wanted to borrow their bulls for few days. Mohini agrees even without informing her husband and also decides to go along so that she can see her parents. Ramji decides to follow as he wants to ensure the bulls are safe.
When they reached the village river, the water level in the river had risen and Ramji suggested going the next day.
However Mohini was not keeL “No matter what, I am going to my parents place today. Her brother suggested crossing the river by holding on to the tail of the bulls and tying the luggage on their backs. Mohini agreed and they began crossing.
Like this, the two of them moved ahead in the river by catching the tail of the bulls. Mohini was with one bull and her brother with the other bull. When they reached the middle of the river, the water came to the neck of Mohini. Ramji was watching them from the bank and he was very worried for his wife and brother in law.
Ramji shouted from the bank, “Mohini, please hold the tail of the bull tightly”. But Mohini on hearing that got angry and in a fit of rage left the tail of the bull, and by doing so, she got drowned in the river thus ending her life.
Moral of the story: In order to make wise decisions, we must learn to control our anger and keep ourselves calm.
