The Greatest Showman: Review

The simple life of a legend ‘The greatest showman’ is a very inspiring story of P.T. Barnum that has been beautifully directed by Michael Gracey.

The story revolves around Phineas Taylor Barnum who dreams of being a showman. He embarks on this journey with his lovely wife Charity Hallet (Played by Michaelle Williams) whom he met when he was just 10. He puts on stage people who have deformities to the shortest man, the trapeze siblings, woman with a beard to a name a few. This film is about his struggle in bringing humanity in the minds of people and making his stage performance socially acceptable.

The audience enjoys the film as it is captivating and shows how a man of the 90’s embraces the differences in his society.

The film is taken center stage by Hugh Jackman who plays the P.T. Barnum and the beautiful love story of Philip Carlyle (Zac Effron) and Anne Wheeler (Zendaya) was sensitively portrayed by the actors. They show the outcome of how their love is accepted in the society.

The Greatest showman, shows that anyone can achieve his/her dream with perseverance, persistence and patience. This film brings together and celebrates the differences in people and takes humanity to a different level. The message of the film is that it is important to accept reality and move on with life.

The movie may not appeal much to today’s generation as it is old school musical drama.
