What is Welding?

Welding is a process of meaning two similar or dissimilar metals by the application of heat with or without application of pressure and addition of filler material application of pressure and addition of filler material.

Welding is extensively used in manufacturing industry, construction industry and maintenance work, replacing riveting and bolting to a greater extent.

The various welding processes are: Electric arc welding, Gas welding, Thermit welding, Resistance welding and Friction welding.

Safety precautions:

• Check the welding machine to check and make sure that it is properly ground and that all leaves are properly insulated.
• Never look at the Ark with naked eye the Ark can burn your eyes severely always use a facial while welding.
• Do not weld around combustible or inflammable materials where parks may cause a fire.
• Prevent cables from coming in contact with hot metal water oil or grease and avoid dragging the cables around sharp corners.
• Ensure proper insulation of the cables and check for openings.
• Never weld containers which have been used to store gasoline oil or similar materials without first having them thoroughly cleaned.
• Always wear the safety hand gloves, apron and Leather shoes.
• Always turn off the machine when leaving the work.
• Apply eye drops after welding is over for the day, to relieve the strain on the eyes.
• While welding, stand on drive footing and keep the body insulated from the electrode, any other parts of the electrode holder, and the work.
